Presentation
Concerned with
the cultural and educational situation of our nowadays society, a group
formed by professionals connected to the education área gathered focused on
a single goal: to create ways to contribute to a better scholar and
Professional formation for everyone regardless his or her origin. In this
way, back in the year 2000, ADEP Associação pelo Desenvolvimento Educacional
e Profissional
(Association for Educational and Professional Development)
was created – a Non-Governamental Organization (NGO) without any profit
goals to actuate specially in the educational segment.
At the present moment ADEP performs its role through out several projects
and campaigns, being helped by public organs as well as private companies.
Its actions cover from development of culture, education, cience, thecnology,
entertainment, sports to professional improvement.
“We, ADEP´s founders and partners,
believe that education is the main vector to the erradication of poverty and
to the development of society as a whole, so, that´s the reason why we
dedicate part of our time as volunteers in the activities of our
assossiation. We want to be recognized by the quality and eficiency in
finding solutions to problems, and to be recognized by actuating as an
instrument of social development”.
Mission
ADEP´s mission is providing
intelectual formation to all individuals. ADEP has, as a main goal, the
contribution to society´s development, paying special attention to the
education field and to professional formation.
ADEP´s statutory objectives
are:
§
Promote and support integration among poor students and individuals who need
professional formation in adequate teaching institutions, through
partnerships with all segments of society.
§
To plead and to cooperate with the public agencies, for the improvement of
the leisure and educational establishments for students.
§
To promote lectures and courses in order to contribute with the educational
and professional formation of all integrant ones of the society.
§
To research in the field of the education.
§
Establish partnerships with federal, state or municipal public agencies,
aiming at to the intentions of this Association.
§
To promote the interchange with national or foreign associations or public
and private institutions.
§
To fight for the defense of the individual, diffuse and collective rights of
the children and the adolescents, which relates to the education, mainly the
itens from the International Convention of the Rights of the Child and the
Statute of the Child and the Adolescent.
§
To stimulate forms of intellectual and sport development for the child and
the adolescent.
§
To promote the constitution of a help fund for school ingression of the
children and adolescents and to guarantee the permanence of those who
already attend it.
The
Projects
Working with projects gives
opportunity for sharing and interacting. That allows a wide and flexible
work and raises a lot the chance of achieving goals. Adep acts in projects
through partnerships with governamental and private organizations and It
acts by itself as well. The main current projects are:

"São Paulo is a School" Project |

This is a São Paulo’s City
Hall Project in which Adep is a contracted partner, taking over most of
the cultural workshops at the Tiete Regatas Club Pole, being
responsable to assist more than 1,500 children a day, students from the
municipal schools. The workshops are supervised by renowned
professionals, counting with psycologists, pedagogs and trained
teachers who perform workshops such as studing orientation, plastic
arts, aeromodelism, reading, recicling, experimental cooking,
recreation, acting, story telling, drawing, and many other
modalities
which contribute to the program Sao Paulo is a school.

To achieve
its purposes, this Program organizes activities before or after class
time, from Monday through Friday and on weekends. All activities have
educational background and they are supervised by a team of
professionals. These activities are held in different facilities such as
schools, museums parks, CEUs, the Sambodromo and others. It doesn’t mean
having “more classes” as it may sound at first, but it sure means
giving poor students a chance to have the same conditions kids from
higher social layers have.

"Child
in the School" Project |

The “ Project Child in the School” is
an initiative of the Association for Educational and Professional
Development - ADEP, and has as objective the creation of mechanisms to
stimulate the school ingression of devoid children, and, moreover, to
guarantee the permanence of those who are already studying. Our ways of
working are:
1) Orientation and material support to the needy children, providing and
helping school conviviality.
2) Fiscalization of the Government regarding the quality of the public
education offered and the respect to our legislation.
3) Creation of stimuli for the ingression and the pertaining to school
attendance, through sport and intellectual activities.

"Reading is Gorgeous" Project |

The Project “Reading is
Everything of Good” has as its main objective to create activities which
stimulate the habit of reading, the knowledge of the different types of
information sources (books, magazines, dictionaries, among others) and
the methodical use for attainment of bibliographical material, which are
factors that have influence on learning through different moments of
life.

"Digital Inclusion" Project |

The Project "Digital Inclusion" has as
objective to take to the needy layers of the population the contact with
the technological development, creating future chances for young people
to enter in the working market. Specifically, this Project consists of
the installation of Centers of Training and Access (CTAs) in
whichparticipants will learn how to work with computers, being
acquainted to computing and internet, as well as, to word processors,
spread sheets and to work with data base. Also, in these places, the
integrant ones of the neighboring communities will be able to access the
InterNet, always helped by trained monitors. |

The Educational
Comissions
ADEP has assisting commissions. These commissions are created with the
intention of helping the Association to act in a coordinated and integrated
form in the diverse branches of the Education and to help answering
questions of national specific interest. The main attributions of the
commissions of the ADEP are:

to carry studies
and analyses of questions relating to the education in its specific
sectors,

to prepare proposals and contributions
that guide the work of the education,

to elaborate annual reports concerning
the course of the works,
-
to consider the accomplishment of
seminaries, meetings and debates and to foment the participation of new
specialists, amongst others.
The current
existing commissions in the ADEP are:
Comissão de Educação Infantil (Commission of Infantile Education)

This commission has as goal the debate for the perfectioning of the
“infantile
education”, integrant part of the basic education, which is the part of
education
that has greater importance for the personal formation.
Comissão de Educação Esportiva (Commission of Sport
Education)
(Pres.: Pompeo Marques Bonini)
It has as objective the planning and execution of a good quality sport
education,
guaranteeing the access of all students to the
practice and knowledge of the
sports.
Comissão de Educação Ambiental
(Environment Education
Commission)
(Pres.: Wolney Ramos)
The Commission of Environment Education acts in diverse sectors, creating
new concepts and tools of learning about environment, longing for a bigger
protection and educating individuals for a sustainable development.
Comissão de Educação Política (Political Education Comission)
(Pres.: José R. de Vasconcelos)
In an independent and impartial way, the Commission of Politics Education
has as main objective the creation of ways to increase the participation and
the interest of the society in the politics and the forms of administration
of the State.
